Sunglasses and lollipops
Since it is now finally summer and the sun is nice and bright today I figured I would post something nice and summery. The only way this girl could be more summery is if she was eating an ice ceam instead of a lollipop.
I know this is a bit different from all the fantasy stuff I usually post, but I felt like it was necessary to take a step out of the fantastical realm and into something more ordinary and relatable. After all I am versatile artist, which means that I am capable of drawing more than just elves and heroes and dragons and stuff. Every once in a while it's good to remind yourself and the people around you of that fact.
Hope the summer is treating you guys well so far, and that it will do so in the near future as well.
Until next time

Light as air
Another image in my new illustration series about love. I felt like flying the last time I fell in love. I guess that's what this image is about. If you have ever had that feeling, like your heart could burst from your chest and like your feet could lift from the ground if you just jumped, well, then you probably understand what I'm talking about ^^
That feeling was a good sign as it turns out. The guy I had these feelings for (and still do) is going to be my husband as of December next year.
Have you ever felt this way?

Heart Rain
I had a sudden burst of inspiration tonight. I sat down and made some sketches to clarify the idea, I ended up with a couple of sketches that I like so I'm going to try to do a series of images about love and hearts with my favorite color palette; red, white and black.
This is the first image in the up and coming series:
Heart Rain
Some people walk around wishing their true love could fall from the sky...
This image is of course available at my artflakes.com print store

Airy Fairy
Today I bring you fairy dust.
I like stripes and frilly skirts and fairies so why not combine them ^^
It has been a while since I did a fairy so here it is;
This was just a fun and fast piece. Probably took me an hour or two in total.

Fuchsia Injection
I did this image as a practice portrait. i needed to touch up on my faces. I often end up drawing faces that look very similar and sometimes quite flat. I found a very nice stock image on deviantart by Chamberstock that inspired me I just sat down and got to it. You don't improve without practice, easy as that.
At least I don't :p
I simply did a quick sketch on top of the stock image and then I removed the stock image. After that I started coloring the skin, choosing the right hues and blending. I am not a very efficient blender. It takes me a while to get it right, so it was good practice for me really. I had some trouble with the proportions of the face and had to refer back to the original image quite a lot but I finally got it somewhat right. The hair was a bit tricky too, but as soon as I figured out some neat tricks it went pretty smoothly.
If you have any constructive critique or comments about it feel free to leave a comment below.
